Byeoksongjeong

벽송정

A pavilion built by faimous scholars of the time, it was a place where scholars got together to hold debates.

Exact date of establishment is not recorded and in year 1920, due to huge flood damage, part of the pavilion was moved and built at the current location.

Scale of building is shown through three partitions in the front, two partitions on the side, and chinese character, eight(八) shape of roof looking from the side of the building.

There are poetry and prose’s hanging boards (similar to signboard) on the inside of the pavilion written by JiWon Choi and GwangPil Kim of Shinla’s ending era.

Spectacular view of Byeoksongjeong is enhanced by being built on the foot of the mountain.

This pavilion holds historical records of end of Shinla era’s poetry and prose.
