Information

Mt. Bonghwa Relics are located in Gangjeong-ri Seongsan-myeon Goryeong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do. Mt. Bonghwa is a low mountain that rises in the middle of sedimentary plains to the west of the Nakdong River, about 10km away from the expressway leading from Downtown Goryeong to Daegu.

Rising 170m above sea level, it is said that there used to be a beacon on its peak during the Joseon Dynasty. This is why it is named Mt. Bonghwa. Bakgok-ri Dolmens are about 1km to the north of the plains and to the east are sharp cliffs along the Nakdong River.

There is a stand made of earth on the peak, but it is unknown when it was built.

Several pieces of earthenware and roofing tiles have been discovered here. Among them were pieces of a horn-shaped handle. Several scattered pieces were found few years ago, but none remains today.

Other pieces included pieces from a blue-gray jar with grid patterns, but these pieces were so small that their original shape could not be anticipated. They are thought to be from Daegaya.
