He is one of the three greatest musician in Korea, who made Gayageum, the representative traditional musical instrument by receiving the order of the King Gasil in Daegaya. Ureuk composed 12 songs for Gayageum, but only the names are inherited now.
Geumgok at Kwaebin-ri, Goryeong-eup is called as ‘jeongjeonggol’. It is the place that Ureuk played Gayageum with his juniors, and the name was made because of the pure sound. Ureuk Yeongjeonggak and monument were built on the hill that can overlook jeongjeonggol at one look, and service to cherish the contribution of Ureuk is served every year.
